NEW HARTFORD — Richard A. Haight of New Hartford died April 3, 2011. A memorial service was held April 7 at Cook Funeral Home.

Marion Hart Kittredge

WINSTED — Marion Hart Kittredge of Sebring, Fla., a longtime resident of Winsted, died March 24, 2011. Dowden Funeral Home of Sebring has care of arrangements.

Sean M. O’Connell

AMENIA — Sean M. O’Connell, 54, was tragically shot and killed near his home in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, on April 1, 2011.

He was born Oct. 28, 1956, in Bronxville, N.Y., the son of Marion O’Connell of Bronxville and the late Joseph O’Connell.

In 2006 he married Lucinda Schutt in St. Thomas, where he resided for the last seven years.

Susan M. Trager

CORNWALL BRIDGE — Susan M. Trager died March 22, 2011, at her home in Laguna Beach, Calif.
She was a longtime water and environmental attorney, who for 30 years represented property owners, public agencies and municipalities across California. Ms. Trager, who recently described herself as a “behind-the-scenes” lawyer, rarely made headlines with her work.

In one of her most prominent cases, she won a $43.2 million jury verdict for the owner of land condemned by a water agency to build a Riverside County reservoir. The judge in the case increased the award to $50 million.


Christopher Morley

Knowing Christopher Morley was a gift and an honor, one this community will cherish forever. He loved life and lived it to its fullest in every way that he could. With everyone he knew, he shared his love for the arts, children, the town of Falls Village, the Falls Village Children’s Theater, the D.M. Hunt Library, Shakespeare & Company, The Little Guild, Companion Pet Rescue and so many other organizations of which there are too many to list.

Muriel (Cuddy) Capellaro

MILLERTON — Muriel (Cuddy) Capellaro, 96, died suddenly on April 12, 2011. She was born June 22, 1914, in Bridgeport, Conn., the daughter of the late Olga and Francis Cuddy.

She spent her childhood in Stratford, Conn., and later Danbury, Conn., where she met and married Bill Capellaro and started her family.

They moved to New Fairfield, Conn., where they lived until they retired. They spent their retirement in Florida and Cape Cod. Muriel lived in Millerton for the last 20 years.

Josephine ‘Jody’ Bush

NORFOLK — A memorial service for Josephine “Jody” Bush, 64, who died Feb. 2, 2011, will be held Saturday, April 23, at 11 a.m. at Church of Christ Battell Chapel in Norfolk.

Kathleen (Verity) Parsons

SHARON — Kathleen (Verity) Parsons, 80, of Davidson, N.C., and the Brian Center of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on April 4, 2011, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center after a long illness.

She was born on Aug. 6, 1930, in Norwalk, Conn., to the late Katherine (Kindelan) and Harold Verity.

She was educated in Norwalk schools and was a classically trained pianist and organist. She was a pianist for Catholic churches in Sharon, Kent and Cornwall Bridge.

Kathleen is survived by six children; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Robert F. Krall

MILLBROOK — Dr. Robert F. Krall, a Millbrook optometrist and resident of Verbank, died peacefully on April 4, 2011, in the home he loved.

Mary Lou Howie

FALLS VILLAGE — Mary Lou Howie passed away on April 9, 2011. She was 75 years old.

She was born in Ann Arbor, Mich., on March 1, 1936, the only daughter of Sarah Catherine (Cake) and Raymond Frederick Hutzel. She attended Pioneer High School, Albion College and graduated from the School of Education at the University of Michigan.

Christopher R. Morley

FALLS VILLAGE — Christopher R. Morley, 57, of Undermountain Road, died April 8, 2011, after being stricken at his home. He was the husband of Leone T. Young of New York City and Falls Village.

Christopher was born Sept. 4, 1953, in Seattle, Wash., the son of Elsa (Colby) Morley of Los Angeles and the late Ralph Morley.

In addition to his wife and mother, Christopher is survived by his son Christopher Morley Jr. of New Haven; and his brother, Ralph of Los Angeles. He became a member of Leone’s extended family, whom he cherished and who greatly miss him as well.
