John B. Marchi

WINSTED — John B. Marchi, 88, formerly of North Canaan, and Spring Hill, Fla., passed away at his home on Sept. 21, 2019, with his devoted family by his side.   He was the loving husband of Doris (Loucks) Marchi for more than 69 years.

Born in Sandisfield, Mass., on Dec. 14, 1930, John was the son of the late John B. Marchi  Sr. and Pasqualena (Calabrese) Marchi.  

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. 

Maryanne (Gormley) Johnson

MILLERTON — Maryanne Gormley Johnson, 80, formerly of Portland, Ore., and Millerton, died Sept. 23, 2019, at home in Wyncote, Pa. 

Born May 24, 1939, in Sharon to Anna Elizabeth and William J. Gormley, Maryanne — known from her first year to family and friends as Ginger — grew up in Millerton, where her father had been the mayor and town supervisor, and her mother a lifelong patron and librarian of the Millerton Free Library. 

Edgar K. Waaler

AMENIA — Edgar K. Waaler, 81, a longtime resident of Amenia, passed away Sept. 26, 2019, at his home.  

Born on Sept. 22, 1938, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Oddny (Hansen) and Edgar Waaler.   

Mr. Waaler was an assistant civil engineer, retired from the Dutchess County Department of Public Works. He was very proud of his previous years of work in the area in dairy farming. 

He served in the United States Army.  

Geraldine Louise Eisermann

MILLERTON — Geraldine Louise Eisermann, 64, a three-year resident of Millerton, died unexpectedly on Sept. 23, 2019, at her home in Millerton. 

Geri worked in the financial management and banking industry in New York City for Chase Manhattan Bank and most recently for a retirement funding company based in Manhattan. Her financial expertise and advice will be greatly missed by her employers and her many clients. Prior to moving to Millerton, Geri resided in Peekskill, N.Y., for many years and also in Pawling and Wingdale, N.Y.

Louise Annette Hunt

LAKEVILLE  — Louise Annette Hunt, 81, of Sharon Road, died peacefully July 31, 2019, at her home. 

Annette was born June 18, 1938, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Henry Gayle Hunt and Edna Nauert. She graduated from Indiana State University in 1960 and later moved to Connecticut. 

Robert M. ‘Bobby’ Bartolomeo Sr.

PINE PLAINS — Robert M. “Bobby” Bartolomeo Sr., 77, of Pine Plains passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 16, 2019.

Bobby was the co-owner/operator of West End Automotive in Pine Plains; he retired in 2004. He spent more than 40 years working in the family business, where he did auto repairs and pumped gas for their many customers, always with good humor and a smile for everyone who drove in.

John D. Greene

PINE PLAINS — John D. Greene of Pine Plains and New York City passed away Sept. 20, 2019, at the age of 87, at his home, GG FARM, with his wife and companion of 36 years, Gwen Greene, at his side.  

Theodore ‘Ted’ Stanfield

SHARON — Theodore “Ted” Stanfield passed away peacefully at his home in Sharon on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at the age of 81.

Ted was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., at the King’s County Hospital on July 4, 1938, the son of Winnie Mercer (Brown)and Theophilus Bramwell Stanfield of Newfoundland. He graduated from Manual Training High School in Brooklyn N.Y., then worked at Harris Intertype in the Research and Development Department as a toolmaker, leaving to serve in The Salvation Army as an officer for eight years. 

Donna Mae Jaromin

WASSAIC — Donna Mae Jaromin, 89, a longtime resident of Wassaic, passed away Sept. 10, 2019, at her home in Wassaic. 

Mrs. Jaromin was a building supervisor at the Wassaic Developmental Center for 35 years retiring in 1988. 

Born on May 13, 1930, in Deposit, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Grace (Zaruba) and  Clarence Kelsey Sr. 

Mrs. Jaromin proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On May 11, 1952 in Washington, D.C., she married George Jaromin, who died in 1987.
