Jeffrey A. Lovetere, 56, of Winsted, died Nov. 18, 2011. Calling hours were held Nov. 20 and a Mass of Christian burial was held Nov. 21. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery. Montano-Shea Funeral Home has care of arrangements.

Richard Anthony Alto Sr.

LAKEVILLE — Richard Anthony Alto Sr., 79, died Nov. 14, 2011, in Yarmouth Port, Mass.

He was born June 7, 1932.

A former resident of Lake­ville and assistant principal at Housatonic Valley Regional High School, Dick Alto was an educator who mixed humor with traditional family values, enriching the lives of countless young people as a high school administrator.

Dorothy (Barth) Rossman

MILLERTON — Dorothy (Barth) Rossman, 94, died Nov. 14, 2011, at Noble Horizons. She was the widow of Kenneth Rossman.

Born Nov. 22, 1916, in Millerton, she was the daughter of Caroline and Fred Barth. Until recently she had lived all of her life in Millerton. She graduated from Millerton High School.

She was a World War II veteran. A Navy Wave, she worked in air traffic control.

She also worked as a florist at Barnard’s and later was part of the food service staff at Webutuck Central School.

In Appreciation: Robert Estabrook

One of the hardest parts of being old is witnessing the passing of so many who have been passengers with you in life’s journey. But in my long 87 years of life, there is no friend I mourn more deeply than Bob Estabrook.

Bob was a very special person with myriad interests, but his dedication to responsible journalism, freedom of information and the people’s right to know was the bond that cemented our relationship.

Thomas B. Roberts, 92, of Winchester Center, died Nov. 11, 2011. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, at Winchester Center Cemetery at 10 a.m. with full Military Honors. Montano-Shea Funeral Home has care of arrangements.

Robert Harley Estabrook

SALISBURY — Robert Harley Estabrook, editor and publisher emeritus of The Lakeville Journal, who had been associated with the newspaper since 1971 following a 25-year career on The Washington Post as an editor and foreign correspondent, died Nov. 15, 2011, at Noble Horizons. He was 93 and was the husband of the late Mary Lou (Stewart) Estabrook, to whom he had been married for 67 years.

Vivienne ‘Viv’ Ambery

SHARON — Vivienne “Viv” Ambery passed away peacefully Nov. 7, 2011, at Sharon Hospital. She was the widow of John Mott and Thomas Ambery.

Born Vivienne Elizabeth Pearson on Oct. 15, 1928, in South Londonderry, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Capen) and Ernest Pearson. She was one of five siblings and was educated and lived her youth in Vermont.

Rose H. Amerighi

SHARON — Rose H. Amerighi, 90, died Nov. 14, 2011. She was born Feb. 13, 1921.

Rose dedicated her life to raising her four children. Her passions were antiques and gardening.

She is survived by her sons, Michael and David; her daughters, Elizabeth and Linda; her grandsons, Adam Brammer and Brandon Amerighi; her granddaughter, Blair Amerighi; and her great-grandsons, Jackson and Evan Brammer.

She was predeceased by her husband, Fred Amerighi; and grandson, Rene Brammer.

Pattie Ann Boutin

MILLERTON — Pattie Ann Boutin, 50, of Silver Mountain Road, died Nov. 13, 2011, at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the wife of Robin L. Boutin.

Pattie was born Dec. 26, 1960, in Sharon, the daughter of Lucille Hoffman Ingersoll and the late Francis J. Meade.

She was a graduate of Webutuck High School and also attended BOCES Technical School for printing and photography.

She worked for B&D in North Canaan and also worked for The Lakeville Journal.

On Dec. 22, 1991, she became a heart transplant recipient and later became an avid traveler.
