William A. ‘Homer’ Hall Sr.

PINE PLAINS — William A. “Homer” Hall Sr., 66, passed away at home with his loving family by his side on June 18, 2019. 

He was born on July 21, 1952, in Springfield, Vt., the son of Barbara (Pelkey) and Leon Hall. 

Homer was a heavy machine operator for over 34 years at Liberta Brothers in Pine Plains and most recently for Matt Blackburn Excavating in Gallatin, N.Y. 

John A. Campbell

MILLERTON — John A. Campbell, 39, a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Ind., passed away on June 23, 2019, at his home. He was a passionate Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs and Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed spending his free time with his family and friends and his dog, Latte.

John was born in Hinesville, Ga., on March 11, 1980. He attended Warren Central High School. He worked in the food services industry, rising to the position of general manager of an Indianapolis restaurant.

LAKEVILLE — A Celebration of Life service for Robert Sadlon, 76, co-founder of The Moviehouse in Millerton with his wife, Carol, will be held at The Moviehouse on Saturday, July 13, from 10 a.m. to noon. A reception will follow next door at 50 Main St.

Mr. Sadlon died May 15, 2019, following a battle with brain cancer. 

He is survived by his wife, Carol; and his son, Cyprian.

MILLERTON — The Rev. Edward A. Loper, 64, completed his life journey on June 23, 2019, at Slidell Memorial Hospital in Slidell, La., due to complications from pancreatic cancer.

Ed was born on March 17, 1955, in Sharon to Raymond and the late Corene Loper. He grew up in Millerton.

Jeffrey Tennyson Andrews

MILLERTON — On June 22, Jeffrey Tennyson Andrews, 70, of Millerton died peacefully at Noble Horizons. He was unable to recover from a severe stroke he suffered in January.

PINE PLAINS — Tracalea Johns, 75, went home to the Lord on June 20, 2019 at the ArchCare @ Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck, N.Y., after her long battle against lung cancer.

She was born on Oct. 1, 1943, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., the daughter of Ida (Smith) and Graham Vossler.

Lea was employed as a custodian for the Pine Plains Central School District for around five years.

Lea enjoyed crocheting and sewing and playing board and card games.

She was a loving mother and grandmother and loved spoiling her grandchildren.

William E. Sprossel Sr.

PINE PLAINS — William E. Sprossel Sr., 84 , died on June 22, 2019, at his home in Pine Plains. 

Mr. Sprossel was a mason who owned and operated Sprossel Masonry for 35 years. 

Born on May 21, 1935, in Sharon, he was the son of the late Mabel (Somers) and Otto Sprossel. 

He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. 

On July 6, 1956, in Dover Plains, he married Joyce MacDonald, who survives at home. 

Jean Sartori

DOVER PLAINS — Jean Sartori, 93, a lifelong resident of Dover Plains, died on June 22, 2019, at Noble Horizons.  

Born on Sept. 10, 1925, in Sharon, she was the daughter of the late Anna (Hoag) and  Errol B. Hufcut.  

On Jan. 18, 1948, in Dover Plains,she married Marco Sartori, who died on April 28, 1998.  

She was a graduate of Dover High School, Class of 1944, and a member of the Dover Second Baptist Church in Dover Plains.

Marion (Branche) Reed

SHARON — Marion (Branche) Reed, 101, of Middletown, Conn., and formerly of Sharon, the widow of Millard “Bud” Orson Reed, passed away on June 12, 2019 at Middlesex Hospital. 

Born in Lakeville, she was the daughter of the late Ora (Brown) and William Branche.

Marion lived in Sharon, where she was a member of the Sharon Methodist Church, before moving to Middletown in 2009. She was a hospice volunteer for many years. 

Marion loved her home and gardening and was very outgoing and an instant friend to everyone she met.
