Timothy A. Price

AMENIA —Timothy A. Price, 57, a resident of Amenia and formerly of Stanfordville, passed away on Aug. 12, 2018, at his home in Amenia. 

Mr. Price was a professional horseman who worked at many local farms. He later worked as a landscaper for Burlinghoff Contracting in Pine Plains. 

Jennie Deane

NORTH CANAAN — Jennie Deane of North Canaan, born on April 28, 1969, to the late Pauline Deane and Walter Deane Sr., passed away on Aug. 4, 2018, at the age of 49. 

Jennie grew up in Southfield, Mass., and graduated from Mount Everett High School. 

She was a cook and waitress most of her life at many local diners and food establishments.  

Dorothy Edith (Barton) Burdick

STANFORDVILLE — Dorothy Edith (Barton) Burdick, 94, of Stanfordville died Aug. 11, 2018, at Vassar Brothers Hospital with three generations by her side.

Dot was born the only child of Carrie and Frank Barton on March 8, 1924. Following her education at the Stanford Free School and Millbrook High School, she went to Albany to train as a well-baby nurse and had fond memories of her years as a nanny to the Wing family. 

Nancy Ludlow Tuckerman

SALISBURY — Nancy Ludlow Tuckerman, a longtime Salisbury resident and formerly of New York City, died peacefully at Noble Horizons in Salisbury. She was 89 years of age.

Tuckerman was working at a travel agency in Manhattan when her former classmate and roommate, Jacqueline (Bouvier) Kennedy, appointed her White House Social Secretary in 1963.

Gerald M. Rassman

SHARON — Gerald M. Rassman went to be with the Lord on Aug. 1, 2018.

Gerald was born on Nov. 8, 1947, in Sharon, to the late Ernest “Fred” Rassman and Helen Arias. After graduating from Webutuck High School, he proudly served in the Navy. He later worked as a correctional officer and retired from Green Haven Correctional Facility.

William Kreiling Jr.

MILLERTON — William Kreiling Jr., 83, of Sarasota, Fla., passed away July 30, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 9, 1935, in Queens, N.Y., to the late Bertha and William Kreiling Sr. 

He started at an early age working for his father to build William Kreiling Fuel Oil. 

Charles D. Ryan Sr.m

AMENIA — Charles D. Ryan Sr., 89, passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Conn., on July 24, 2018.

He was born on May 28, 1929, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., the son of Leon and Betsy Ryan.

Charles drove a truck for Staat’s Transport in Red Hook.

On Nov. 21, 1951, in Smithfield, N.Y., he married Emily (Morey) Ryan. She predeceased him on Jan. 3, 2005.

He was predeceased by his son Charles Ryan Jr. in 1985; and a grandson, Lee Ryan, in 2004.

KENT — Graveside services and interment for Dr. Walter Reilly Kane and his wife, Margaret (Gunn) Kane, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, at Skiff Mountain Cemetery, 15 West Woods Road in Kent. 

A Celebration of Life for Dr. Walter Reilly Kane will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 19, at the Marvelwood School library, 476 Skiff Mountain Road, Kent.

Jane (Burgess) Fitting

SALISBURY — Jane (Burgess) Fitting died peacefully at home Aug. 3, 2018, following a five-year battle with cancer.

Born in Stamford, Conn., on May 6, 1958, she was raised in Darien, Conn., then moved at 14 with her family to Salisbury. She attended Housatonic Valley Regional High School for one year before becoming part of the first year of girls admitted to The Hotchkiss School, graduating in 1976.

Brad Allen Dickinson

PINE PLAINS — Brad Allen Dickinson, 33, of Pleasant Valley, N.Y., passed away on Aug. 1, 2018, at Vassar Brother’s Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 

He was born on Sept. 22, 1984, in Gt. Barrington, the son of Dolores (Frenzel) and William W. Dickinson Sr. of Pine Plains. 

Brad was an electrician.
