Ann M. Zimlinghaus

DOVER PLAINS — Ann M. Zimlinghaus, R.N., 87, a longtime area resident, died peacefully on July 28, 2019, at Sharon Health Care Center. 

Born Oct. 16, 1931, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Joseph Newman. 

Nancy (Prisco) Miller

NORTH CANAAN — Nancy (Prisco) Miller, 93, of North Canaan died peacefully on July 23, 2019, at Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. 

She was the widow of Thurman S. Miller. 

Nancy was born Nov. 1, 1925, in New Haven, Conn., the daughter of the late Rose (Giorgio)and Michele “Mike” Prisco. 

Gunvor Hollander

SALISBURY- -— Gunvor Hollander, 87, a one-year resident of Salisbury and formerly of Wyckoff, N.J., died July 26, 2019, at Sharon Hospital.  

Mrs. Hollander was an office manager for Connecticut General Life Insurance Company in New Jersey for 30 years, retiring in 1992.

Born Aug. 29, 1931, in Odda, Norway, she was the daughter of the late Helga and Haarald Rodberg. 

On Sept. 27, 1958, in New York City, she married Richard K. Hollander. Mr. Hollander died in 2017. 

Daniel Raymond Cuddeback Sr.

MILLERTON — Daniel Raymond Cuddeback Sr., 81, passed away on July 27, 2019, at home.  

Dan was born to Marie and Ray Cuddeback on March 13, 1938, in Rochester, N.Y. He grew up in the Rochester area and lived there until he met the love of his life, Barbara (Hosier) Cuddeback who survives at home.  

Dan and Barb married on April 2, 1957 (62 wonderful years), in Millerton.  

Paul Webbley Nichols

LAKEVILLE — Paul Webbley Nichols, 77, a 28-year resident of Lakeville and formerly of Falls Village, died July 19, 2019, at Sharon Health Care Center. 

Mr. Nichols was a retired landscaper and arborist. He also worked in the security department at The Hotchkiss School and was an antiques dealer.

Born Aug. 22, 1942, in Hartford, he was the son of the late Doris (Webbley) and Paul Edward Nichols. 

Following his graduation from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1963. 

John ‘Jack’ Washington Evans

SHARON — John “Jack” Washington Evans, 75, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home in Sharon on July 19, 2019. 

Mr. Evans was the son of Dr. Charles Hawes Evans and Jean Robinson Evans. 

Jack was born and raised in South Orange, N.J., and was a resident of Sharon for many years. 

George W. Mackey Sr.

HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y. – George W. Mackey Sr., 89, passed away July 20, 2019, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

He was born on July 13, 1930, in Mount Kisco, N.Y., a son of the late Isabel (Welsh) and Frank Mackey.

Mr. Mackey proudly served his country with the United States Army from 1949 to 1952. He obtained the rank of SGT  First Class. He also received four Bronze Stars. 

He was a member of American Legion Post No. 0136 in Mount Kisco.

Martin Bogert

NORTH CANAAN — Martin Bogert, 58, of North Canaan passed away after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease, on June 27, 2019.

Martin was born on April 12, 1961, in Hialeah, Fla. 

Neil Carl Estern

WEST CORNWALL — Neil Carl Estern, born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on April 18, 1926, died on July 11, 2019.  

He was the only son of Molly  Sylbert and Marc J. Estern.

Neil grew up in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, near Prospect Park. He graduated from the High School of Industrial Art (now the High School of Art  and Design) in 1944.

He attended the Tyler School of Fine Art in Philadelphia, Pa., a division of Temple  University; and graduated in 1948 with a BFA as well as a BS in Education.

Vernon Keesler

MILLERTON — Vernon Keesler, 91, a 10-year resident of Hudson, N.Y., and former resident of Millerton, for more than 67 years, died peacefully on July 21, 2019, at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson. 

Mr. Keesler worked as a truck driver for18 years and also worked for the Town of North East Highway Department for 20 years, retiring on Jan. 5, 1990.

Born Oct. 1, 1927, in Barrytown, N.Y., he was the son of the late Marguerite (A’Barail) and Alva B. Keesler.
