Reginald Leslie Haight

PINE PLAINS — Reginald Leslie Haight, 93, Pine Plains  passed away Sept. 8, 2018, at home under the care of hospice with family by his side. He and his wife lived their entire lives in the Hudson Valley as part of the farming community. In the 1970s, they settled in the beautiful valley on Tripp Road, in Millerton.

He was born Sept. 6, 1925, in the family home in Verbank, N.Y., the son of the late Douglas Haight and Mabel Woodruff Haight. He attended numerous one-room schoolhouses in Verbank, Millbrook and Millerton.

Thomas William Johnson

SHARON — Thomas William Johnson, 54, formerly of Sharon, died unexpectedly at his home in Waterport, N.Y., on July 28, 2018. He was the son of the late Anna (Pederson) and  Theodore Johnson.

Thomas was born in Sharon on Sept. 23, 1963. He was a graduate of Oliver Wolcott Technical School in Torrington. He was a carpenter for most of his life in the Buffalo area of New York.

He is survived by a son, Kyle; a daughter, Kelly; a brother, Ted; and a sister, Tammy.

Robert N. Wilkinson

PINE PLAINS — Robert N. Wilkinson, 67, passed away on Sept. 13, 2018, at home. 

He was born on Sept. 22, 1950, in Manhattan, the son of Mary A. (Naglieri) Wilkinson of Pine Plains and the late Robert C. Wilkinson.

Bob worked for Verizon as an installer in Catskill, N.Y.

In his spare time, he loved motorcycles and gardening. He was a very devoted father and spent most of his life helping his children in every way possible.

Charles Ronald Hummel

CORNWALL BRIDGE — Charles Ronald Hummel, known to family and friends as “Ron,” of Cornwall Bridge, died peacefully at age 80 in New Milford Hospital on Sept. 8, 2018.  

Ron was born and raised in Detroit, Mich. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Anne Hummel; and his twin brother, Richard Brian Hummel. 

Ron raised his family in New Canaan, Conn., and retired in Cornwall Bridge and Patagonia, Ariz.  

Norman ‘Mickey’ Arons

SHARON — Norman “Mickey” Arons died Sept. 8, 2018.  

He was born May 7, 1930.

He was the beloved husband of Judy Arons for 62 years; the loving father of Julie Auster and Peter and Tobe Sevush and Ralph; the proud grandfather of Tracey, Michael, Jamie and Matthew. 

He was president of the Kent Memorial Library for five years. He was a Korean War veteran and Navy lieutenant, and the past president of W&M Capital.  

He fought a courageous battle against kidney and heart disease.  

William F. Anderson

SHARON — William F. Anderson, 70, passed away peacefully at Sharon Hospital on Sept. 4, 2018, after a long battle with cancer.

He was a world traveler, a veteran in the United States Navy, retired. 

He studied at Cornell University and later served as the Admirals Chef aboard the USS Eisenhower for 20 years. He worked for another 20 years at Kent School.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sandra Anderson of Sharon; his two stepchildren, Deanne and John Hemmerich; and four grandchildren, Mason, Noah, James and Alex.

Lee Moore

CORNWALL — Lee Moore, a true gentleman of the theater whose distinctive deep voice and commanding demeanor made him a constant and familiar presence on stage, screen, radio and television since the 1950s, died on Aug. 16, 2018, in Manhattan. 

He was 89 years old and had homes in Manhattan and Cornwall.

His death was announced by his wife, the opera singer and actress Leslie Middlebrook.

Anne Marie (Keefe) Chamberlin

MILLERTON — Anne Marie (Keefe) Chamberlin, 66, died unexpectedly in her home on the evening of Aug. 28, 2018. 

Born on Nov. 5, 1951, she was the third child of the late Jean (Floyd) and Edward Keefe. 

Anne spent her childhood in Amenia but was a resident of her home on Coleman Station Road  in Millerton for her adult life. She graduated from Webutuck Central High School in 1969.

Donald L. Cuneo

LAKEVILLE — Donald L. Cuneo, 74, of Lime Rock Road and formerly of New York City, passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 31, 2018, surrounded by his loving family, after a fierce, but short, battle with cancer.

Douglas J. Carlson Sr.

NORTH CANAAN — Douglas J. Carlson Sr., 74, of Canaan Valley, passed away on Aug. 28, 2018, surrounded by his family, two days after his 57th wedding anniversary. 

Doug was the husband of Crystalle (Shorey) Carlson, and together they raised five beautiful children at Carlwood Farm, where he has resided his entire life.
