CORNWALL — A memorial service for Marie Prentice, 86, who died at Sharon Hospital on May 14, 2018, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4, at 4 p.m. at the UCC Church in Cornwall on Bolton Hill Road.

Memorial service: Emily Sue Lynch

SHARON —  There will be a memorial service for Emily Sue Lynch on Saturday, Aug. 4, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Church Episcopal in Sharon.

Mrs. Lynch died peacefully after a long illness on April 3, 2018. 

Douglas Van Wagner

HILLSDALE — Douglas Van Wagner, 74, passed away on July 20, 2018, at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, N.Y.

He was born on July 1, 1944, in Barrytown, N.Y., the son of Florence (Burns) and Kenneth Van Wagner Sr. 

He was a dairy farmer working on Chaseholm farm in Pine Plains.

Francis E. Foley

AMENIA — Francis Edward Foley, 95, a lifelong resident of Amenia, died July 19, 2018, at his home in Amenia. 

Mr. Foley was a pharmacist at the Pleasant Valley Pharmacy and later at the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center, retiring in 1986. 

Born on Jan. 4, 1923, in Amenia, he was the son of the late Gertrude (Cotter) and Edward P. Foley. 

Mr. Foley proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater during World War II. 

He was a graduate of Albany College of Pharmacy, Class of 1950. 

Donald Keith Drumm

SHARON — Donald Keith Drumm, 81, died July 14, 2018, of natural causes in McDonald, Ohio. 

He was born in Sharon on April 3, 1937, the son of Julia (Couse) and Ned Drumm. 

He attended Sharon Center School and Housatonic Valley Regional High School. He then entered the United States Navy, where he served for seven years. He then became a truck driver and was a Teamster for 35 years.

Chadd Michael Ackerman

WASSAIC – Chadd Michael Ackerman, 37, a lifelong area resident died July 21, 2018, at his home in Wassaic. 

Chadd worked for New York State as a developmental assistant one (DA1) supervisor at the Taconic DDSO in Wassaic for more than eight years.

Born Oct. 15, 1980, in Sharon, he was the son of the late Randy Ackerman and Margaret E. (Boyles) Ackerman, who survives in Wassaic. 

Chadd attended Dutchess County BOCES, where he excelled in small engine repair. He was a 1999 graduate of Webutuck High School in Amenia. 

Laverne G. ‘Butch’ Spaulding

MILLERTON — Laverne G. “Butch” Spaulding, 73, a longtime area resident, died peacefully on July 14, 2018, at his home in Millerton with his loving family at his side. 

Butch worked as a professional automotive detailer for Sharon Auto Body in Sharon for more than 30 years prior to his retirement.

Born June 8, 1945, in Cobleskill, N.Y., he was the son of the late Norma (Elliott) and Kenneth Spaulding and was educated in Cobleskill area schools. 

Priscilla B. Fordyce

SALISBURY — Priscilla B. Fordyce, 92, died July 9, 2018, at Noble Horizons.  

Born on Sept. 15, 1925, in Rumford, R.I., she was the daughter of Dorothy and Arthur Briden. She attended East Providence schools and graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in mathematics.  

After graduation, she moved to Pittsfield, Mass., and worked as an assistant engineer for GE.  

On Sept. 27, 1952, Priscilla was married to William J. Fordyce of Schenectady, N.Y., and lived there until 1961 when they moved to Vestal, N.Y.  

Steven Michael Decker

MILLERTON — Steven Michael Decker, 47, a lifelong area resident, died July 15, 2018, at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y., following a long illness. Steve worked as a truck driver for Petro Home Services based in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., for more than 12 years.

Born Sept. 27, 1970, in Sharon, he was the son of Catherine (Cade) Spaulding of Millerton. 

Gregory E. Carlson

FALLS VILLAGE — Gregory E. Carlson, 62, of Armonk, N.Y., passed away on July 12, 2018,  after a Herculean battle with cancer. 

Gregory was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., on Dec. 2, 1955, to Dolores (Stout) and the late Ehret Carlson.
