Timothy ‘Timmy’ Kay

MILLERTON — Timothy “Timmy” Kay, 60, of Millerton, passed away peacefully on Nov. 26, 2019, at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie under hospice care.

Tim was born Jan. 3, 1959, in Ithaca, N.Y., the son of Marilyn (Masterson) and Dr. Kent Kay.

In addition to his parents, Tim is survived by his wife Melanie (Farnham) Kay; his son, Alexander Kay; his daughter, Alycia Kay; three brothers, Christopher Kay, Eugene Kay and his wife, Jane, and Clinton Kay; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Raymond Allen Stickles Jr.

DOVER PLAINS — Raymond Allen Stickles Jr., 84, a lifelong Dutchess County resident, died peacefully Nov. 24, 2019, at his home in Dover Plains, surrounded by his loving companion and children. 

Ray worked for Louis Wells Farm in Gallatin, N.Y., for more than 20 years and was a property caretaker in Millbrook for many years. 

Marlena Mittel

AMENIA — Marlena Mittel, 78, a 20-year resident of Amenia and formerly of Queens, N.Y., died peacefully Nov. 29, 2019, at Sharon Hospital surrounded by her loving family. 

Ms. Mittel was a self-employed housekeeper in the local area for many years.  

Born Nov. 2, 1941, in Manhattan, she was the daughter of the late Bertha (Rehl) and  Joseph Mittel. She graduated from Long Island City High School and earned an associate’s degree later in life. 

She married Kenneth Whelan. Mr. Whelan died previously. 

Marianne Czernin

SALISBURY — Marianne Czernin, 78, passed away peacefully at Noble Horizons on Nov. 30, 2019.

Marianne, the daughter of Beatrix Merton Strauss and Ferdinand Czernin, was born in New York on April 23, 1941.

While living in New York City, Marianne began her career working at various nonprofits. 

Upon her return to Salisbury she worked for more than 30 year as a regulatory consultant at National Regulatory Services, where she helped broker-dealers meet their compliance obligations. 

Howard James ‘Windy’ Milton Jr.

MILLERTON — Howard James “Windy” Milton Jr., 87, a lifelong Millerton resident died peacefully on Nov. 25, 2019, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, with his loving family at his bedside. 

Robert H. Indorf

KENT — Robert Henry Indorf, 92, a resident of Kent, died early Nov. 30, 2019, after a week-long hospitalization following a massive stroke.  

He was born in Yonkers, N.Y., to the late Gesine (Mueller)  and J. Frederick Indorf on Oct. 28, 1927.  

A graduate of Roosevelt High School in Yonkers, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Korea, later using his GI benefits to study at the Parsons School of Design in New York. 

Jerome ‘Jerry’ William Cramp

SALISBURY — Jerome “Jerry” William Cramp, 84, of Salisbury, died Nov. 26, 2019, at Noble Horizons. 

Jerry was born April 8, 1935, in Syracuse, N.Y.

He received a B.A. from Hamilton College and an M.A. from Syracuse University. He spent his career in public education in New York and Connecticut, ranging from a teacher to a principal. He served on the Town of Sharon’s Board of Education and also served as Sharon’s representative to the regional Board of Education. 

Rita C. (Bradley) Whiting

NORTH CANAAN — Rita C. (Bradley) Whiting, 92, of Green Acres, Fla., died Nov. 24, 2019, at Sharon Hospital.   She was the widow of Allen Willis Whiting.

Rita was born March 25, 1927, in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Daisy (Rado) and Harry Bradley.

Rita worked as a technician for the Exelis Company. 

She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting.  While living in Florida, Rita was very active in her community and served as president of her housing association. 

Peter Morrow

SHARON — Peter Morrow, 73, former resident of Sharon and Salisbury, perished on Oct. 31, 2019, in an airplane crash in Ocala, Fla.

Born in Pittsfield, Mass., in 1946, the son of Margaret and Charles Morrow, Peter grew up in Sharon before moving and attending school in both London and Paris. 

Priscilla Ann Hewins

SHEFFIELD — Priscilla Ann Hewins, 83, of Sheffield passed peacefully on Nov. 18, 2019. 

She was born on July 6, 1936, on the family farm in Sheffield, daughter of the late Ella M. (Humes) and Walter D. Hewins Sr. 

She was a graduate of Mount Everett High School, Class of 1955, where she was a member of the majorette drill team.  She worked at Hutlzer Corp, Wash N Dry and Becton Dickinson in North Canaan. She loved fishing, traveling, gardening, puzzles and spending time with her family.
