Webutuck pre-k students celebrate the end of year with Field Day and picnic

WEBUTUCK — Pre-k students at Webutuck Elementary School were excited to celebrate the end of the school year with their Field Day, Moving Up Day and family picnic — all in one day on Tuesday, June 19.
Starting around 9 a.m., the festivities kicked off with Field Day in the gymnasium, thanks to the staff members from the Webutuck Athletic Department. In celebration of Field Day, the children were given light blue T-shirts with “Field Day” printed on the front.

Millerton Minors

The Millerton Minor League baseball team played against Lakeville, Conn., on Saturday, June 9, at Eddie Collins Field in Millerton. The Lakeville team won the game by two runs, 17-15. At left, Millerton resident Landon Elliott, 11, was the pitcher for the Millerton team. Landon played alongside his 9-year-old brother, Levi.

Stissing Mountain varsity softball: Lady Bombers play in championships

PINE PLAINS — The Pine Plains varsity softball team had the opportunity to finish its season with two rigorous games as it competed in the New York State Section 9 Class C Championships on Saturday, June 9.
As a celebration of its advancement to the championship games, the Lady Bombers’ bus was led by Pine Plains Police Officer Steven Camburn through town on Friday, June 8, where it was greeted by town officials and residents with great fanfare and blue balloons.

WEBUTUCK — The Webutuck varsity spring sports teams ended the 2018 season on a celebratory note as they toasted their achievements at the varsity sports banquet on Wednesday, June 6.
The annual banquet was held in the Webutuck High School (WHS) cafeteria to recognize the student athletes on this year’s varsity baseball, softball and track teams.

PINE PLAINS — After a promising season on the track this year, the Pine Plains varsity spring track team excelled at the Section 9 Class C/D Championships on Friday, May 25.
The team traveled to in the Faller Field Complex at Middletown High School, where it competed against the varsity spring track teams from Sullivan West, Tri-Valley, Webutuck, Millbrook, Coleman, Chapel Field and Eldred.

PINE PLAINS— The Stissing Mountain High School varsity baseball team brought home two wins in two weeks as it competed in the Section 9 Class C Championship on Saturday, May 26, and in the regional semi-final game on Thursday, May 31.
Starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, the Bombers competed against Tri-Valley High School on the Teddy Lorenz Memorial Field in Saugerties.
